This is most emphatically not a dating site, and most of the people who attempt to use it as one are banned pretty quickly. Nonethelless at first glance it does have certain similarities to a dating site - profiles, sending messages and so. The same can be said for all kinds of sites in all corners of society, and the truth is we only think of this a 'bit like a dating site' because it was dating sites that were the first to appear like this in a big way.
