That Hawaiian pizza is actually pretty good. Fight me.
I don't even get why we have certain foods depending on the meal.
There are two reasons. Firstly, nutrition. Early in the day your body needs liquid, protein and carboyhdrate, and doesn't need loads of vegetable matter to process. Secondly, the foods readily available in the morning in an agrarian society (i.e. nearly everybody till quite recently) without much cooking are the things that the farm, house or the garden can easily provide. It's a very straight line from both of these to milk (the cow needed milking anyway), eggs (a good job for lively children) and the remains of yesterday's bread, cheered-up over the fire. And milk with cheered-up bread was the origin of breakfast cereal.
On any random day in the modern world of course, do what you like. For breakfast this morning I myself had smoked turbot, swiss chard & chinotto souffle, with a cognac & angostura crumb and soft parsnip & potato biscuits. It's Friday so I wanted something quick and easy.
@squeakytoy
I hate shredded coconut. It makes me feel like I'm eating toenail clippings
Disney has always peddled mediocrity and banality.
@DarkLordChungus With a lot of emotional manipulation
I like going to the dentist. I enjoy having my teeth scraped and gums prodded . Feels nice.
I don't like this thread.
@CuddleDuncan
Very unpopular opinion (in most crowds): I’m never having children. (No disrespect intended towards the parents here).
Oh, I've got another one! Now you're all going to think I'm extra awful.
I enjoy setting an early alarm on the weekend and continuously hitting "snooze" more than I enjoy turning off the alarm the night before and sleeping in. 👹
I decided a while back that though I do want to have kids, it's not fair on them to have a mother like me. I have too many issues from my own childhood, and a particular blend of mental and neurological conditions that I believe would make me either a) an excellent parent or b) a really awful one, and it doesn't seem very fair to introduce a 'Schrodingers Cat' scenario to a child's life.
@squeakytoy that is the psychological effect of that 10 extra min of sleep feeling more satisfying than the entire night sleep you just had because you are thinking about and savoring every second of it
@pmvines That makes a lot of sense! It is such a joy every time the alarm goes off and I'm like "ha HA! I don't have to work today!" and hit snooze, curl up under the duvet, and continue to nap in the morning sun 'til it goes off again.
Ranch dressing is overrated.
Oooh, @squeakytoy that is the best
Ooh, I've got another one: The Addams Family were the most normal people in the entirety of both movies.
Pineapple is fine to put on pizza.
@BuggleBear: You know, upon consideration, I'm with you on that one.
Picante sauce is delicious plain.
I'm unfamiliar with picante sauce @DarrenWalker?
People who get their baby's ears pierced are awful. Plus babies look weird with pieced ears.
A double whammy of divisive opinions!
@BuggleBear kick that one up a notch: anyone doing non-consent body modification (circumcision, as well as ear piercing) on an infant should be subject to the grown infants' choice of mod, done to them, in the interest of fair play
@squeakytoy shinks, hisses, forms arms into a cross, as protec
@BuggleBear: Picante sauce? It's this stuff.
Here's an opinion that's unpopular among the people I grew up surrounded by!
"If it's preexisting conditions that kill people, not Covid, pulling somebody's oxygen tube away isn't murder: you didn't kill them, their weak lungs did."
@MaullySterling if circumcision is done for medical reasons (like phimosis) then it's acceptable I think, but for other reasons, I'm dubious.
@DarrenWalker so it's like pizza sauce?
OK, I've got another unpopular opinion: people who write dramatic Facebook statuses, or messages on group chats, then refuse to say what's bothering them when someone replies and asks, deserve to be kicked in the kneecap. No, Kirsty, you wanted our attention, you got it.
Also: underarm hair on women is cute. Especially if it's dyed pink.
Moles and scars add character to a person’s face/body.
@BuggleBear
Picante sauce is salsa. I have witnessed @DarrenWalker eating it by the spoonful.
@DarkLordChungus nowt wrong with that, salsa is delicious 🤤
I don't like cheesecake or desserts with fruit in them
@pmvines is such a great guy
@pmvines is a pretty great guy, but he owns more shoes than any one person needs. #someonehadtosayit
@BellaSera you should see my outerwear. Very absurd amount for someone in the deep south
There's no such thing as a cute newborn baby.
College graduations outside in pouring rain are the best!!
