About me
📣 About Me
WELCOME, ONE AND ALL — professionals, enthusiasts, hikikomori, cosplayers, anime fans, introverts, extroverts, and those who can’t decide which box to check! Special thanks to the millions (okay, dozens) who have clicked my profile, read every word, and flooded my inbox with requests for free hugs. Demand is currently backlogged, but rest assured, my hug distribution center is working overtime.
♥️ My Personality
I’m kind, caring, and considerate. Sadly, I’m also fairly lonely — think less “life of the party” and more “guy texting his cats.” I used to be more extroverted, but over the years, life has gently nudged me into introversion… and by “gently” I mean with the force of a sumo wrestler.
Still, I like to think I’m fun, interesting, and occasionally even wise. I’m a good listener, a non-judger, and I firmly believe in treating people how we want to be treated. Unless we’re talking about pizza toppings — pineapple is between you and your conscience.
🚣🏻 My Solitude
There’s a big difference between solitude (peaceful alone time) and loneliness (painful alone time). Unfortunately, I’ve nailed the combo platter.
Remember Tom Hanks in Cast Away? Yeah, I feel like that guy… except I don’t even have Wilson. (Well, unless you count my cats, who would absolutely bat Wilson under the couch.) Sometimes I consider buying a volleyball, taking it to a diner, and asking for a table for two — but then I realize I already get enough funny looks.
Loneliness isn’t rare anymore — studies (Harvard’s got a good one) say it’s about as bad for your health as smoking. Except you don’t even get a cool cowboy hat and a horse out of it.
And as for Maslow’s hierarchy of needs? Let’s just say I’m still trying to climb past the “Netflix and leftover pizza” tier.
⚾️ My Activities
I love food adventures — new restaurants, exotic menus, and occasionally regrettable Yelp reviews. On good days, I enjoy walks, road trips, beaches, boating, museums, or just pretending I know what I’m doing at a farmer’s market. Baseball games are also a win — I’d love to see the Red Sox at Fenway again, though ideally when they’re winning.
🎶 My Favorite Music
My playlist is mostly 80s (Elton John, Tears for Fears, Lionel Richie), with occasional detours into classical, jazz, and the 50s/60s. Basically, if you like Frank Sinatra or the Beach Boys, we’ll get along. If not, I’ll just hum quietly to myself until you change your mind.
🎥 My Favorite Movies
I binge documentaries and debates because I love history and international relations — but don’t worry, I balance that nerd energy with plenty of comedies and superhero flicks.
Back to the Future is, objectively, the greatest movie ever made. If you disagree, we can still be friends… but you’ll be wrong. Other favorites include Ghostbusters, Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop, and Spies Like Us. Basically, if the movie has both laughs and a questionable 80s soundtrack, I’m in.
P.S. I already saw the Back to the Future musical in the theater a couple months ago. It wasn’t quite the movie (because let’s be honest, nothing is), but it was still a blast — and yes, I resisted the urge to show up on a hoverboard.
🐱 My Pets
Six cats. All rescues. Basically, I run a furry democracy, and I’m outvoted daily.
👨🏻🎓 My Goals
I work from home and am earning my Ph.D. in international relations. (I already have two master’s degrees. Clearly, I’m collecting them like Pokémon.)
People say I’m like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. I disagree — I’m more Leonard… minus Penny. Still working on that part.
🍀 My Hopes
Sure, I’d love world peace, but let’s be realistic: we’d probably need to ship humanity to another planet first. On a personal level, I’d just like a friend to call and say, “Hey, want to grab coffee?” (Or hey, want to argue over which Ghostbusters movie was better?)
Real companionship and new friendships are at the top of my wishlist.
☕️ My Thoughts
I try new things — like writing this profile instead of just saying “Ask me anything.” That’s effort, right?
If you’ve read this far, here’s your test: tell me the capital of New Jersey when you message me. That way I’ll know you actually paid attention. (Hint: it’s not Hoboken, even though that would be way cooler.)
