About me
Hi, I'm Meg :) sweet/smart/silly/sassy snugglebug, loving listener and respectful confidante, at your service.
I'm an extroverted, caring, non-judgemental person. Acts of service is my love language, and I truly derive great personal fulfillment from helping other people. I am grateful to have come from a very open-minded, loving family, and have been working with therapists for my own self-exploration, healing, and personal development since I was 14 years old.
The idea of seeking the services and support of a variety of helping professionals is something that's been normalized for me since I was very young. I truly admire anyone who's undertaken the challenge of looking within, identifying what they need, and then speaking on it and being brave enough to seek it out. I know that our modern culture, particularly in North America, tends to represent hyper-individualism as an ideal, and I think this can often make the idea of acknowledging our interdependence seem terrifying. While I do believe being self-reliant is important, I think it's can be damaging to ignore the fact that we are social creatures that thrive within the context of a supportive community. As our lives get busier and more complex, while we are inundated with new technologies, I think that many of us find ourselves longing for deeper connection. Many people feel alienated from their families or communities of origin, must move away from loved ones for new opportunities, or experience relationship break downs due to increasing demands in other parts of their lives. Regardless of the reasons for this sense of disconnection, all of us have a need to be seen, cared for, acknowledged and held.
I hope to find my role to play in easing some of these struggles and helping others navigate their own journeys on this path. As a naturally physically affectionate person, I find great joy in practicing platonic intimacy with my friends, loved ones and community. I've attended several workshops on communication, boundaries and consent, and I'm quite comfortable with clearly stating my needs and listening intently when others share their own. I seek to offer a safe, relaxed, warm environment for humans to receive care, compassion, and loving attentiveness.
About my sessions:
1. I prefer to conduct all sessions in outdoor public locations. I have a double-wide hammock with an attached bug net that I find to be a great tool for meetings in parks and rest areas. I also have an inflatable mattress for beaches and areas with fewer trees.
2. For the safety of all parties, I vet all potential cuddle-buddies thoroughly to ensure expectations are aligned. This includes a free, mandatory video consultation prior to our first meeting.
3. I am happy to offer: an open heart and mind, a compassionate ear, light massage, spooning, long hugs, gentle back tickling, hair play and more. All sessions are fully clothed, and strictly platonic in nature.
4. I have my own vehicle and can travel to you, however I will not be a guest in your home on our first session.
5. I'm also pleased to provide virtual sessions at a reduced rate of $60/hour. In these sessions I will hold space for you to vent, to cry, to talk about your dreams, your fears, or whatever else is on your heart. I can also offer tarot readings, we can make art together, go for a walk outside (I can show you around the beautiful mountain area I live in, and you can share your favourite spots with me), play games, share music with one another, and more.
