About me

**Bookings must be made at least a week in advance and require a video meet screening call**
{Certified at Cuddlist. Certified in Mental Health First Aid}.

If you are reading this, I'm willing to bet you could use a hug!
We all could right now. Our lives are so full of challenging and wonderful work that we forget we are also creatures in need of nurturing. It's time to decompress and just exist in a wholesome and loving space without worldly distractions.

Does that space even exist?

Could you find an hour at home where you weren't distracted by any of the many things on your to-do list? Could you stick to it?

Hey there! I'm Shandai, but you can call me Daisy (cuz I know you are already wondering how to say my name!). I am a certified Cuddlist and Relational Therapeutic Touch Practitioner with a sole focus on platonic connection. Hugs sound good to me too in this uncertain time! I'm here to help you take that hour (or more!) and co-create a safe, warm, and hopefully stress-reduced space for
you.

Our space can include as many or as few wholesome and nurturing hugs, cuddles, and pets as you need. I believe human contact is healing both emotionally and physically and that is why I offer it. No two cuddle sessions are alike, as yours would be devoted to your current needs which might be ever-changing. Also, touch is NOT a requirement, it's just something I am excited to offer you. It’s all about me holding space for you however you need it to be held virtually or in person.

BONUS: My presence facilitates your needs while remaining true to my own. This means I can be fully available within our space based on the boundaries we BOTH have. You will never have to worry about me because I'll always communicate my comfort level with you. This frees you up to explore your own needs and set your own boundaries without stressing about whether I'm ok.

Who doesn't need a little more practice holding boundaries, right? Also, add to that help getting your needs identified and met all at the same time (which can be tricky for some). We can work on that together!

So, YES! That space can exist, my friend, and I'm so here for it! Are you?

Like what you read? Let's talk Logistics!

We'll need to make sure that we are on the same page and that we are compatible. Not everyone is a match for this kind of work, and understandably so. I'm certain you'd like to vet me too, right?

The screening process is easy!
A quick and pleasant 20-minute video call to meet "face to face.”

Here's what we'd cover:
-We will talk about the Code of Conduct and the Three Agreements we must make before every session for our safety and comfort.
-You can tell me anything about you that might affect our
session so that possible accommodations can be made (within the scope of my
abilities, of course)
-I can answer any questions you might have about services
and scheduling. I have some questions for you too!
Either at the end of the call or within a time period jointly agreed
upon after the call, the following happens:
- If we both decide we are excited to work with each other we can schedule our first session.
-If either of us decides that we're not feeling 100% comfortable moving forward, then we don't schedule.

I require no explanation, and I will never be offended if you aren't 100% joyous about working with me. My hope is that you will communicate that with me INSTEAD of forcing yourself to do something you do not want to do! (I will do the same for you too)

Some basics about my space...

LOCATION I am in the Northend, St Paul, MN Neighborhood. The
closest main intersection is Rice St and Front Ave.

ACCESSIBILITY There are steps leading up to my front door and
my cuddle space is on the first floor right inside the front door. My restroom
is on the second floor, so keep that in mind.

IN CALLS vs OUT CALLS I generally only take in-calls but I'm
happy to talk about possible accommodation for someone who may be physically
unable to access my space.

I HAVE CATS If you have an allergy to cats, depending on your
level of allergy, I can vacuum (but I know that doesn’t get everything) and I
can put them away for the session. If you do not have an allergy, and you just
LOVE the idea of 1 or 2 cats joining us in the space, that is also possible!
(but I make no promises… because cats gotta cat)

PARKING Street parking is usually available.

SCHEDULING In general, I am open to taking sessions during the week M-F
starting at 9:30 a.m. and the last session must end no later than 3:30 p.m.
I KNOW! This might sound tricky to a 9-5 work schedule but think
of it like a planned appointment you might make for yourself during the week,
as you would any other health-related appointment. Or treat yourself to a
little break/mini vacay during your work day. I promise it will be worth it!

WEEKENDS are a little trickier for me if I am honest. I can make arrangements on a case-by-case basis but please note you may have to wait longer for a weekend opening as parental duties and my own mental health always come first in my world.
DEPOSITS I invoice for a $30 non-refundable deposit. This must be paid to hold your spot, and preferably on the same day it is received. But don't worry, this is applied to the cost of your session.

CANCELLATION POLICY If you cancel 24 hours or more before your session your deposit can be applied to your next session. If you cancel less than 24 hours before your session you will need to pay a new deposit for your next session. This covers the time that I would not be able to fill otherwise, thank you for your understanding! If I cancel at any time for any reason your deposit will always be applied to your next session.

Further information about what a session with me is like can be found at www.sonderembrace.com (Check out the FAQ for the nitty gritty!)

What is the Code of Conduct? It is something you will have to agree to before we can have a session! Here it is:

1. Client and Practitioner both verify that they are 18 or older and are mentally/emotionally able to give consent.

2. Client and Practitioner both agree to be free from any mind-altering substances during the sessions and are thereby fully able to give consent.

3. Client agrees to fully disclose any diagnoses, conditions or sensitivities that may affect their cuddling session to the Practitioner. (ie. Epilepsy, Diabetes, Sensitive to strong smells etc.)

4. Client and Practitioner both agree to practice consent and attention to personal boundaries at all times. No is a full sentence, and will be respected at all times before, during and after a session.

5. Client and Practitioner will communicate to find what is mutually comfortable throughout each cuddling session. This applies to all communication prior to and after sessions as well.

6. This is a strictly platonic service. Client and Practitioner both agree to not pursue or encourage sexual arousal. Also:

Minimum clothing of tank top and shorts that cover the top half of the thigh and are suitable to be worn in public for both Client and Practitioner at all times.

No hand to genital or breast contact. No intentional genital stimulation of any kind.

No exchanging of saliva, or any other bodily fluid, in any way.

7. Client and Practitioner both agree to respectful personal hygiene.

8. Client confidentiality is to be respected at all times.

9. Either Client or Practitioner may end the session at any time.

10. All feedback is valued and confidential. Please feel free to share any changes you would like to see made in the space or in my techniques to assist in your comfort during your session.
