“Steve is too nice for his own good. He thinks of himself second or third. He needs to be selfish sometimes, but I don’t know if he ever will.”

She’s probably right.

I’m divorced, and I realized this week that after 10 years, I miss the emotional connection of familiar touch. The warmth of someone else, the connection. I feel like this could be something that saves me.
