After more than a year of trying to make our schedules line up, I was delighted to finally get Bill on my Scrabble board.

Bill strikes me as the kind of player who doesn’t need the flashy seven-letter bingo to impress anyone. He’s the one quietly seeing possibilities three moves ahead, making thoughtful choices, and somehow ending up with the highest score anyway. Wicked smart, observant, and wonderfully easy to talk to, he has a calm confidence that immediately puts people at ease.

What I appreciated most was how much trust and respect he brought to our session. He was happy to let me call the plays and choreograph our way through different cuddle positions, following my lead with openness and good humor. Before long, he had simply settled into my arms like he’d always belonged there.

Safe. Grounded. Authentic. One of those rare people whose presence feels effortless.

I’m very glad we finally connected, and I hope this won’t be the last chapter in our Scrabble game.
