Need some advice/help

So I don't know how to say this without sounding off or weird, but I feel depressed or at least sad and lonely.
I've been wanting more human connection on this site, but lately it feels like nobody wants to even acknowledge me anymore. Everytime I've reached out to people on this site, they delete their accounts or get banned, and it kind of affects my mental health because it feels like I did something wrong.
And in my personal life, my dad is not showing in interest in my hobby of Warhammer 40K, which is also depressing because it would be something he would be into, but he doesn't engage in the conversation whenever I talk about it. And a little off topic, whenever I try to mix up ideas for the holidays, he almost immediately shoots it down because he believes in tradition, and it feels like he doesn't respect me at all. We share an apartment, and I am almost tempted to kick him out so I can live on my own and do my own thing.

@Gamer1992 Sorry you haven't had success on this site. Patience is required, so just keep giving it a try.
As far as the issues with your Dad I don't think this is the venue to get the help you need. You might want to see a therapist/counselor.

I’m sorry you’re going through this—it sounds really tough. It’s understandable to feel lonely when you’re reaching out but not getting the response you hope for. This isn’t a reflection of anything you’ve done wrong; sometimes, it’s just about where others are in their own lives.

With your dad, I get that it’s frustrating when he doesn’t share your interests or shoots down new ideas. Wanting your own space to explore your passions makes sense. Maybe connecting with others who enjoy Warhammer or finding a small tradition you can both compromise on could help.

You’re not alone, and it’s okay to feel this way. If you ever want to talk, I’m here for you.

@Gamer1992 Very doubtful they are deleting because of you - if they didn't want to hear from you, they would block you. And if they've been banned, they broke the site rules.

Try reaching out to pros who have quite a bit of rep, will likely have more luck that way. It isn’t you, the nature of the internet is that meeting doesn’t always happen. There are a lot of fake accounts among new join dates and likely also some people who are anxious about who they meet with if they have recently become a pro/quite a few end up leaving the site because it’s not for them

  • @Gamer1992 ,

@CuddleDuncan is our chatbot. Allways great advice and links to follow.

And yea people leave and also get banned left and right. Doubt any of the ones you noticed has anything to do with you.

  • I know it's not me, but at the same time, people have ghosted me before, and it makes me feel like an outcast. Times like this, I just want to cut off all connections with everyone I know and never socialize again. I'd rather be alone than to be constantly abandoned and ghosted

@Gamer1992 Ghosting is just a fact of life on the internet, whether you are seeking a cuddle partner, looking for a job, etc. If you are deeply hurt by it, then no, you may be better off not trying to find someone online, because it is endemic on the web.

  • Seek therapy. It’s a more viable option.

  • If they are getting banned, they were probably up to no good and had nothing to do with you. If they are enthusiasts and not responding, that is just how it goes and they are not obligated to respond to anyone. I feel ya though. This time of year I get super depressed. Making friends on the forums here helps, at least for me. You mentioning Warhammer 40K reminds me that I need to play Space Marine II 😎

  • oh dang, sorry to hear about your dad 😔 Rogue Trader was so much fun!! he's definitely missing out!

  • Maybe reach out to established cuddles in your area, ones with karma.
As for your dad, he doesn't owe it to you to play warhamer, maybe find someone that is already playing the game to talk to

@Gamer1992: I'm sorry about your dad and how things aren't working out in a way you'd like. 🙁

So far as 40K goes, do you play and-or paint? Have a favorite army? I used to play but haven't for a few years because I didn't have the energy to keep up with the changing editions and some of the people I had the most fun playing against went over to Infinity and stopped playing 40K.

Enjoy painting when I have time. Daemons are my favorite because I enjoy painting Nurgle. I've had some fun inventing my own diseases and modeling onto the miniatures using textures, plants and other materials, and such.

My family is for the most part not interested in my hobbies either. I concentrate mainly on people who are and don't put energy into trying to interest people, family or friends, in something they aren't interested in. I loved my dad, but I had no interest in many of the things that interested him and vice versa. I have to say, that comment about the holidays sounds rough. Would he at least be interested in sharing a meal or spending time together during the holidays without a focus on tradition? He sounds depressed, perhaps.

Anyway, good luck and I wish you the best.
