Hi Everyone,

I decided to try cuddling/touch therapy for the first time at the beginning of 2024. I remember seeing a news story about it many years ago. While it seemed odd initially, the more I watched the story, the more I saw its appeal. Especially more so these days, where most of the people I talk to seem to feel like they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, and with so many things vying for their attention, they feel disconnected, lonely and overwhelmed.

I was also feeling this way. I have been lucky enough to forge a bunch of new friendships and be part of amazing community groups whose focus is on supporting one another and helping each other grow. I know that has played a large role in my own transformation. I can say that also includes this type of connection, as well as other forms of support.

As someone who values and cherishes personal connections with others, being able to have more of these types of connections is always welcome. Also, I would definitely say affection is one of my love languages, and a good hug always feels very comforting and calming. I can say without a doubt that it is a very valuable and fulfilling experience. I certainly feel so much better after a session. In many ways, I think this should be accepted and welcome form of therapy, just like others like physio, massage, or psychotherapy.

I have met a few different professional cuddlers through this platform, and every single one of them is an amazing person. If it weren't for what they do, I likely would not have met them otherwise. If anyone is thinking about it or looking for someone you can be fully present with, I would encourage you to give it a try. Of course, make sure you pick someone who is professionally trained in it, which is easy to see from their professional banner.
