I’ve struggled with insomnia for most of my life. The kind where your body is exhausted but your brain just refuses to shut off no matter how badly you want sleep. Some nights your thoughts keep you awake, other nights it’s stress, loneliness, anxiety, or nothing at all. You just lay there staring at the ceiling while the rest of the world sleeps.
But one thing I noticed over the years is how much physical closeness changed that for me.

Cuddling with someone I trusted always made me feel safe enough to finally relax. Falling asleep together on the couch, hearing someone breathing next to you, feeling their warmth against you after a long day, those simple quiet moments brought me more peace than I ever really appreciated at the time.

I recently went through a breakup, and I it made me realize how much those small moments of wholesome intimacy actually nourished my soul day to day. Not even just romance, but comfort. Presence. Human warmth. The feeling that someone is there with you and the world can soften for a little while.

Since then, I’ve realized how touch-starved and disconnected a lot of people probably are, especially now. Everybody’s stressed, isolated, overstimulated, constantly carrying life on their shoulders while pretending they’re fine.

So honestly, I’d love to build a small community of friends centered around cuddling without expectations of anything else. A space where people can cuddle, watch movies, nap, talk, laugh, decompress, or just exist around each other without pressure, expectations, or loneliness hanging over everything.

I don’t think there’s anything weak about wanting comfort or closeness. I think being able to give people safety, warmth, trust, and peace is actually something really beautiful.
Sometimes you just need another human being beside you reminding your nervous system that you’re safe.
