I am a simple man. I enjoy weather, storms, watching the rain hit a window pane, seeing the snow drift, like feathers, through the air. I enjoy the soft, quiet sounds of breathing, when hair moves, and the sound of someone's beating heart. I enjoy the music of the world, both natural and artificial, the soft melodies of all the sounds that envelop us within their embrace. I enjoy the silence of three parts, the slow regard thereof, and the magnificent symphonies that exist in their purview.
I am a simple man. I enjoy people, caring for them, being cared for by them, and the give and take between. I enjoy learning about people, their stories, their center and counterpoints, and all that lies beneath. I enjoy talking to people, hearing laughter, seeing interest, and engagement. I enjoy being quiet, feeling their presence, the warmth that radiates, both figurative and literal.
I am a simple man. I enjoy touch, that reminder that we exist in this time, this space, grounded in this reality. I enjoy playing, music, games, the childlike creations that remind us of simpler times. I enjoy feeling another person, and knowing that we are not alone in this world. I enjoy life, and sharing that life with others.
