  • Well said. Thanks @Sideon

  • OMG - some of these comments are Heeee-sterical!!

I had NO idea there were faux pros catfishing out here, but I suppose there is a little of everything going around these days, doh!

How do I show on here I’m not a catfish? If you have the time can you message me what you did to prove yourself?

  • This just happened to me. I should have acted when they showed up and didn’t match their profile picture but figured it was a personal safety thing and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Session was fine, but they started asking me for things off site today and got abusive when I wouldn’t help them quickly enough, weaponizing information I gave them to make me feel like I was somehow unreasonable. I reported them, but I feel silly for sharing so much with a stranger. I’ve learned my lesson and hope others will be cautious as a result of my sharing this.

  • Wow, @CableStone , that's horrible! I'm sorry, I truly hope you send screen shots to the mods/admins and the person gets banned immediately. Intimidation and weaponizing from cuddles has no place here!

  • @AllAboutSoul thanks, I did so as much as I was comfortable with sharing, they said lots of really personal stuff I’d rather not share further. Never had this happen before, I realize now my openness was taken advantage of and I should be more reserved with new cuddlers.

  • @CableStone thanks for sharing that!!!!

I don't think it's fair to put people down for not owning a vehicle in 2023. Not every one can drive even if they could afford a vehicle. And not everyone can afford a vehicle because of many other expenses to pay for. Some don't drive because of physical or mental conditions. I think we should all be empathetic and open minded of every ones situations because I'm sure many don't want to talk about their personal struggles and reasons why they don't do what seems like the "norm"

Agreed. There are so many variables these days, I don't think owning a vehicle is necessarily the norm anymore. I'm always happy to find a work around if a cuddler doesn't have a vehicle. Certainly not something to be criticized for.

  • @TxTom happy to see you also feel the same way. In Europe it's very normal to not own a car and walk, or take public transportation to get to where ever easily. I know I'm some parts of Canada and the states that isn't the case as public transportation isn't easily accessible. But I hope the person that wrote that comment from above and now deleted have learned a thing or two.

  • I’ve often wondered about the purpose of the “owns a car” field on profiles. I have never used it to filter search results.

  • @JohnR1972 generally a person with a vehicle can travel farther and more easily/readily than someone depending on Uber or public transportation. It could also affect commute charges and availability.

  • @JohnR1972 And some that don’t have a vehicle, or that have car trouble, want you to only come to them. Sometimes this is after conversing a bit.

  • @JohnR1972 What @CuddleHugs01234 said. And she and I live in an area where we could spend a lot of time talking to several people only to find out they can't even get to you.

  • Well, I do zoom calls so you can be rest assured I’m not one before you spend your dough 😂

  • @AllAboutSoul @CuddleHugs01234 @achetocuddle
Those are all valid points I had not considered. I am accustomed to traveling to cuddle, often 2+ hours away, so I had not thought about it from those perspectives. Thank you.

Careful, I found and reported a catfish that was using pics of a porn star but they didn't ask for a deposit. I knew at the start they were a fake profile but I went along with it just to see what they'd do.

They even made a fake male account to give themselves karma to try to legitimize themselves. Makes me wonder what their end goal was if they didn't want money. Stay safe.

  • @sausalito - Good work. I appreciate you spotting and reporting that account. Sounds like they had put some effort into it to create a fake male account to make them look more legit.

  • @sausalito

Makes me wonder what their end goal was

Probably to warn you of the potential dangers of meeting catfish who use porn star photos.

Does anyone remember that particular To Catch A Predator episode where the dude told the host, Chris Hanson, he was meeting with underaged girls only to warn them of the dangers associated with meeting dudes from the internet?

  • @TxTom - 😂
I didn’t watch that show often but I saw it a few times. My favorite excuse from the guys being arrested is when they claimed they never sent any messages to the supposed underage girl. They would go on to claim their computer was hacked. Of course, that left the question of why did they show up at the girls house if someone else was sending all those messages.

“My computer / phone was hacked” also seems to be a convenient excuse for Congressmen and CEOs caught sending R rated “selfies”.

  • @JohnR1972 - Somebody once said that he needed cigarettes. Chris Hansen responded with "You think we sell cigarettes at this house?"

  • @Mike403 - If those guys were smart (or at least decent human beings) they would not have ended up on camera talking to Chris Hanson surrounded by undercover cops. The times I saw the show I always had mixed emotions - relief another predator was off the street, concern about my own daughters who were about to become teenagers, and amusement at the incredibly dumb excuses the suspects came up with to explain why they had shown up at a sting operation.

  • @JohnR1972 @Mike403
Even though they show predators being caught, shows like that make my blood boil just seeing people try to abuse underage girls.
That was also a reason I had to stop watching Law & Order: SVU for awhile.
I would get legit pissed that people like that are out there!!

  • @Jova114 - Completely agree!

  • I SEE THE SAME EVERYWHERE INCLUDING fACEBOOK.

I once got catfished by Gwen Stefani . She pretended to be Katy Perry.

  • Imagine you are a marketer wanting to get people to come to your exotic garden. But you could only use a picture of a single flower to entice people to come. In the spring you can post a picture of the flower just beginning to open. But in autumn, do you post a picture of what the flower looks like at that moment, or one from earlier in the season? Which would be more true to the experience of seeing the garden? Which would be more appealing to the viewer?

  • @1_teddybear If in regards to catfishing, post what is current. People are not flowers, and don’t have the same life cycle. So not a great comparison to me.
In the winter the flower is dead, no one here is cuddling dead people, hopefully.

You wouldn't think so...and yet I recall seeing this prompt in a different thread.
