Are there any local folks or folks with a car willing to bring some toasted ravioli tomorrow? Toasted ravioli and gooey butter cake are unique to St. Louis and I think we should give visiting folks a taste. I’ll reimburse you. And I’ll bring the gooey butter cake.

All - Attendance is free. And if you’d like to contribute to the expenses, I’ll put out a jar for contributions

I’ll put up estimated total expenses. I’m keeping it simple. The pavilion was $40 and I’m heading out soon to get stuff for sandwiches, snacks, drinks, napkins, paper plates, etc.

  • @Babichev no worries at all! @SuperManCuddles has kindly offered to come by and get me!

  • I just pulled into my campsite!!!!

  • @waynewv Welcome!!!😁🎉

@waynewv I'm probably one of the pixels on that photo, I'm at the arch right now 😆

  • I truly wish I could be there with you guys!!!! I really wish you guys a fun and exciting time up there.

  • I’ve got plenty of bread, cheese, grapes. Lots of beverages - cola, fizzy water, soda, juice, bottles of water. Chips, hummus, guacamole. Paper plates, napkins, plastic ware, cups.

It’s warm today but not as hot as it’s been.

  • @Babichev , what else do you need-?

    @waynewv - Brains. ;-)

They have a campsite downtown? That is so cool! I had no idea. Oh wait, that’s on the other side of the river. Still very cool and smart of someone to do that.

Probably a cooler with ice in it and/or water jug. And a roll of toilet paper or two just in case. They usually have it in the bathrooms but I wouldn’t count on it. I’ve got 2 rolls but that’s it and I’d rather not have to think about it in the morning.

@Babichev I'll bring a pack of tp and paper towels. Also, when the ice starts melting, I'd be happy to go to the store and get more. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need any help setting up or if their are any last minute items that need to be picked up. Looking forward to meeting you in person.

  • @SCityCuddler - thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. I’ve made some block ice at home, I’ve got a small freezer. I’ve frozen some water bottles. And half a juice bottle. All those will help. But it’s going to be warm and we could be there all day. We will probably need an ice run.

  • **Last minute reminders:

No glass bottles in the park.
    Ask permission before hugs
Ask permission before taking someone’s photo
    Have fun!
    That kind of covers it.

  • Where exactly is St Louis?

Just read the original post today--a day before the event. Glad it's way too far from my location, or else I'd be REALLY annoyed for missing it.

    Good job organizing, @Babichev!

Be safe and have fun, y'all! Looking forward to lots of photos!

  • @FunCartel - I hear it’s by that famous river in the south.

  • Have fun, everybody!

  • @Babichev Can you take my picture off of this thread because I put it on the wrong one by accident. I don’t know how to get it off. Thank you

  • @KozyKim - done
@FunCartel - it’s between New York and Los Angeles B)

All - I’m going offline. Will not be reachable via this site.

    Yowza, it’s happening!

@SuperManCuddles & I are in the Casa Magnolia Bed & Breakfast alongside the park! (Can’t take anyone back for cuddles, though, in case anybody was wondering. 😉)

  • Oh my goodness, that was quite an event!

Not sure exactly how many folks were there, someone thought high 30s. I’m not certain. We had a sign-in sheet but I’m not certain everyone signed it.

We had folks from Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Ohio . . . and even some locals!

I’m still dealing with the aftermath. I’m going to run some of this stuff out to the rabbit shelter tonight. Some of the leftover snacks will be enjoyed by the volunteers. The bananas and veggies will be enjoyed by the rabbits. I’m giving the paper plates etc., to the shelter, they will get used there; Bottled water and cans of soda will be appreciated by the volunteers.

Thank you for everyone’s contributions. We definitely have more than enough to cover receipts. There are a few items I can return to Aldi’s so once I have all that settled I’ll let you know how it turns out. Whatever is left over from the receipts will be donated to the rabbit shelter. Here’s the website if you want to check it out.

Thanks to everyone who turned out. I’m really touched. You all made it be what it turned out to be. I love that there really is a sense of community. Thanks to everyone who helped with loading and unloading and cleanup and loading and unloading. Many hands make light the work, as the Amish say.

Thanks for all the hugs and cuddles!

  • What an experience! The conversations, connections and cuddles were beyond worth the drive! My heart is brimming with warmth and gratitude. Please enjoy this photo dump 💜

  • Very nice images. It seems yall had fun.

Thank you for those! What a lovely capture of the event. Can you send me the one of Bambina? That’s adorable! So glad a few people got to meet her!

  • @calvinstealth It was amazing! I didn’t leave the park until 8 pm 🤣🤷‍♀️

@Babichev Thank you and of course I will! Bambina stole a little piece of my heart 😁

  • Oh man, that looks really fun. I'm glad you guys had a good time!

  • @Nature_Lover_ you did an awesome job with those pics. Everyone was having a great time. I hope to go to those in the future.

  • @Connecticut1977 Big thanks! The pictures are just a glimpse. Everywhere around us for HOURS I saw hugs, laughter, cuddling and acceptance. @Babichev did an incredible job selecting wonderful high quality food including dishes from St. Louis. She hand cut a lovely bouquet of flowers from her beautiful garden as used it as a centerpiece. Many people brought food and drinks and even their lovable pups and the whole thing was an experience. A lot of people were saying they would love to make this an annual gathering. 💜
