Inappropriate profiles

  • The anime one wouldn’t have sent red flags to me . I think it’s wise to be more conservative but I don’t think the pic is ban worthy

  • @Blueiris if you’re going to set a conservative precedence, would that also include banning female members that show excessive amounts of cleavage or pics in bikinis?

  • @morpheus I would think bikini picks would not be that appropriate actually. But really thought that anime pic was fine, not ban worthy.

I think as long as people aren’t nude or wearing lingerie . i Can see asking pros to do more professional pics . If I was just an enthusiast I would take pics in what I normally wear as well as out doing things I enjoy . Which would mean cleavage because it’s there even at church , maybe swimming and playing D&D because those pics show my personality and likes . Like I didn’t get the issue with men with no shirts . Maybe because I grew up with a dad who was shirtless often I don’t associate it with sexual in any way .

The site has been plagued recently by scores or clearly inappropriate sex baiting profiles and pics. But I recommend caution in reporting/banning accounts where one needs to enlarge the image and it is still marginal as to where a drawing’s character has his hand. I don’t think the site wants to be known as difficult to get in. Gnit picking!

I remember mentioning a member awhile back @Sanddy whose pics were overtly sexy. Every picture had her cleavage on display and then there was the double D in her profile name. I was slammed on the boards by several people for bringing her up. That member has since been banned so maybe I was right when I brought her up. However, since then, I personally have eased up when even thinking about reporting members for innaproproate profiles. There are many pics on the site that we could have some serious discussions on whether they should be banned or not. As @greybeard said though, we should all probably be a bit more cautious when reporting. In the example of the anime pic, the member may not have even thought anything about the hand position and how it could have been interpreted. There may have been no Mal intent. When I have an employee that makes a mistake, I educate, I don’t discipline.

  • Maybe I am a female that can read between the lines but I'm pretty sure @PleasantO is offering more than cuddles here

  • [Deleted User]curiousgeorge1 (deleted user)

@o0ashley I can definitely see how you could infer that.

  • @o0ashley I can see that also, but other than her name there's nothing inappropriate abt her profile. She's not even listed as a Pro.

  • [Deleted User]curiousgeorge1 (deleted user)

@jeanpierre her job is listed as cuddling. And what platonic meand the same thing regardless of pro or not.

  • I like that her favorite movie is “Blow”

  • @jeanpierre this wording...."Aboslutely not boring more then just a cuddler but if that's what you only want out of me at the time I can respect that as well."....is very careful wording to say that she does more than cuddle but will do only cuddling if requested.

  • [Deleted User]curiousgeorge1 (deleted user)

@o0ashley it is a shame profiles like that keep appearing. I had someone ask me to make sure cuddling wasnt just a codeword for sex. If they saw profiles like that, I can understand why..

  • It is frustrating because for me I have a hard enough time explaining what I do and having people understand just to have people like that jump in and basically prove them right. But I'm staying the course. Everyone I have cuddled with so far has been amazing and complete gentlemen so I am grateful for that

  • She posted in the professional cuddling section and I commented and asked if she’s a pro.

  • [Deleted User]princessplushie (deleted user)

You all are so awesome. I truly feel like part of a family here and I feel safe and respected which is very important, thank-you everyone!

  • Just a suggestion... But what about putting in a filter for "bad words" that will just deter these people from even trying?

And while it isn't feasible I agree with profile approval.

  • @Catloaf "What about putting in a filter for "bad words" that will just deter these people from even trying?"

I think it's better that the "creeps" reveal themselves as soon as possible ... better to know sooner than later.

  • [Deleted User]Greybeard (deleted user)

@respectful I agree. Better they get sorted out when regulars spot them on the home page!

  • What would those bad words be ?

  • There is a prescreening process for professionals, no?? Perhaps it is time now, as things to continue to grow, to begin prescreening ALL profiles & photos with clear guidelines on what is allowed. As we grow, we will be targeted by more scammers, bots & catfishing accounts. Best to gear up and plan ahead...

  • @cuddlebugTM

A lot of these profiles try to convolute what they're after, but not cleverly. Say the filter scans a profile and selectively pucks out words from the banned list, e.g. "69", "lick", and just bans the profile immediately if enough are caught.

Sure, if they were so inclined they could get around a language filter easily, but I can bet a lot of people would lose patience to try getting round it if you had a good enough one in place.

  • I can see a banned profile now :P

I have 69 pets, some of which may lick your feet if you don't wear socks! My parrot is super sweet, though I don't know if it's a girl or boy as it's very difficult to determine the sex of most birds.

But yeah, bots that are accurate are extremely difficult to make. Difficult enough that I've never seen one that could do a proper job. Not even google with its huge resources has gotten one to work correctly. Perhaps it could flag an account as suspect though so there are fewer to go though.

  • Would everyone born in 1969 be banned lol

    @JasonCuddles

Backpage and Craigslist hunt down "service providers" quite efficiently with theirs and manage to keep many off the site, but it's all about starting somewhere and improving down the line.

I have to doubt that even a basic algorithm would have a hard time separating "I'm 69 years old, newly widowed and my hobbies are–" from "Here's 69 wild reasons we should cuddle like The Barenaked Ladies tonight... ;) "

It's all about consistency and knowing what kind of phrasing is usually used to get around being "obvious". For instance why would 69, barenaked, and a winky face be in the profile at all... (even if they a WERE a true 'Ladies fan, haha!)

Persons familiar with and fans of platonic cuddling might deal with the frustration put up by such filters. But the casual person who might be less committed going in will walk away frustrated. So, it depends on whether this is a site for the platonic cuddling community, or a site for at community and for the general public members who might be interested when introduced to the idea.

My favorite is when new pros appear with one picture and no profile description. Examples of some in the past @lkhp @pariscuddles

    @Catloaf

What do you mean "service providers"? Pretend I live in a cave. I've never heard of backpage just so you know how isolated my cave is.

    edit--------
wow okay. I just went to backpage. I had no idea something like that existed in calgary. huh.

  • @JasonCuddles

Yeah, and that's nothing compared to other metropolitan areas in Canada. These ladies make enough that they can be advertising on review boards with "their own" kind.

I have absolutely nothing against sex workers, but the fact that they are preying on cuddling sites in order to get free advertising is horrible. I left another well-known site because it was so bad. And when I reported inappropriate profiles, and raised concerns about the obvious underground prostitution going on that a client told me about, they didn't bat an eye and said "we have no way of being able to appropriately filter for escorts even though we don't welcome them here".

Lazy, or they just don't care, or both. I wish they could be shut down because I see many girls on there with good intentions who get sucked in for extra favours. And the sad part is that they are the first to pop up in SEO when you do a search for professional cuddling.

I am so thankful that the people here actually care about protecting everyone.

  • A new profile signed up just yesterday. Newly added profile "about me" suggests sending a donation first then messaging her for her number.

    Report, no?

    Maybe someone else already has.
